STEM Summer Workshops

Aerospace is committed to inspiring the next generation. Since 2013, we have supported K-12 education by hosting summer educational programs for teachers and high school students. Free of charge, these events expose participants to the research, state-of-the art facilities, and 21st century skills needed to succeed in the STEM fields and provide real-world examples of problems and solutions.

Herndon Science Competition

Aerospace’s Robert H. Herndon Memorial Science Competition honors the legacy of aerospace pioneer Robert Herndon with competition events designed to stimulate engineering and STEM interest among underprivileged and minority students while increasing diversity in the aerospace industry.

Aerospace STEM Tours for K–12 Students

K–12 students enjoy The Aerospace Corporation’s STEM tours, in which they get to engage with interactive robotics, simulate a rocket launch, and learn about the latest in space technology from renowned scientific experts as they explore future STEM careers.

Winners and runners-up of the Dr. Wanda M. Austin STEM Scholarship are spending their summer interning at Aerospace. CEO Steve Isakowitz hosted a special luncheon for these extraordinary students to celebrate their accomplishments.

Support the STEM Endowment

The Aerospace STEM Endowment was established to provide support and resources to disadvantaged students pursuing STEM education. The Endowment funds the annual Dr. Wanda M. Austin Scholarship as well as STEM-related events hosted by Aerospace.
