Diversity, Inclusion and Equal Opportunity (DIEO)
Aerospace’s DIEO office advises management and employees on diversity and inclusion best practices, and ensures Aerospace effectively practices Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action. Its mission is to assist the corporation in attracting, employing, developing, and retaining diverse talent while ensuring that every employee receives access to a level playing field regarding all personnel practices and conditions of employment.
Executive Diversity Council (EDC)
Chaired by Aerospace President and CEO Steve Isakowitz, the Aerospace Executive Diversity Council (EDC) acts as the governing body for the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy, determines diversity and inclusion goals and ensures they are integrated into our business and people practices, and is accountable for outcomes and progress. The EDC champions initiatives and programs that will advance the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy and position Aerospace as the premier career destination for diverse STEM talent.
Aerospace Diversity Action Committee (ADAC)
ADAC is comprised of management appointees and officers of eight employee resource groups representing African-American, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian-Pacific American, Latino/Hispanic, disabled, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender, military veterans, and women employees.
ADAC is responsible for reviewing, advising, and making recommendations to the DIEO office and the EDC regarding programs, policies, practices, goals, and other workplace-related diversity and inclusion issues. It also provides the representatives of our diverse corporate population the opportunity to discuss and develop relevant activities and serves as a valuable mechanism for broadening communication among the resource groups, providing a forum for input on issues of concern to employees and the corporation.
Employee Resource Groups
Diversity exists any time different groups come together with common interests. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) have long been established at The Aerospace Corporation to further the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. ERGs provide employees an opportunity to connect with coworkers who have similar values of supporting and encouraging diversity. Employees can also choose to serve in local or national leadership roles.
