What are you working on at Aerospace?
I support projects by composing CAD models and simulations, drawings, BOM, and 3D prints. I also create detailed mechanical designs and assemble hardware for ground systems, space instruments, lab equipment, testing, and instruments mounted in aircraft.

What is a typical day like for you at Aerospace?
It really depends on what I am working on and what phase the project is in. Most of the time, I am rendering CAD models, BOM and drawings for meetings, 3D printing, or machining. Other times, I am sterilizing and building instruments and fixtures. I feel like I get a nice balance of both the designing and building aspects of engineering, which I prefer.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?
The diverse projects I am consistently exposed to is shaping me into a more well-rounded engineer. And if there is a subject I want to learn more about, there is always a subject matter expert within close proximity who is more than ready to assist and share their knowledge. It is absolutely amazing to be apart of a group full of top notch managers and incredibly intelligent co-workers who are willing to help each other out. This is one of the many reasons why I can easily say I love my job.

Tell us one thing nobody would guess about you.
I never watched Star Wars, Star Trek, or Stargate. It seems like almost everyone at Aerospace have seen at least one season or movie.

What excites you about the aerospace industry and space today?
The speed in which the technology is advancing is fascinating. And to see how we all coordinate to answer such complex problems with such precision is admirable and inspiring.

Would you be willing to colonize Mars if it meant never returning to Earth?
When I was younger I would have gone, but after moving to California from New Jersey, I've changed my mind. There are many places on Earth that I want to see and things I want to accomplish before making a move like that.
