Name: Kevin

Kevin

Education: Master's degree in aerospace engineering, Georgia Tech
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, University of Wisconsin-Platteville

What are you working on at Aerospace?
Designing spacecrafts by implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering into the design methodology, as well as gaining more exposure for MBSE to incorporate it into a larger portion of Aerospace’s work.

What is a typical day like for you at Aerospace?
I’ll play around (work) in the MBSE software tools to create upgrades to the design processes, use the MBSE tools to advance the design of spacecrafts, and investigate new methods and tools to incorporate into Aerospace’s projects.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?
Being able to aide in the design of space vehicles and implement new methodologies.

Tell us one thing nobody would guess about you.
I’m also a space science educator, and I’m an American Ninja Warrior, known as the Fit Rocket Scientist/Rocket Man.

What excites you about the aerospace industry and space today?
The accelerate of technology and capabilities. We’re able to do so much more faster, cheaper, and smaller/lighter than ever before, enabling new advancements in technology, innovation, and new missions.

Would you be willing to colonize Mars if it meant never returning to Earth?
Nah, even though I think I would be great at it as an engineer and an Eagle Scout, I believe my place is here on Earth to educate, inspire, and enable the path forward for others.
