Name: Colin

Colin

Education: Bachelor's degree in physics, University of California Irvine

What are you working on at Aerospace?
I work in the solar group within the Energy Technology Department where I specialize in space environment test and measurement, as well as solar cell measurement calibrations.

What is a typical day like for you at Aerospace?
Typical days for me are in the lab, either designing/modeling hardware, programming, or building custom electronics for experiments related to solar technology. When I’m not in the lab, I’m doing analysis on experiment data.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?
Doing something different every day! Having the freedom to work on what I want while being encouraged to be creative with my projects.

What excites you about the aerospace industry and space today?
With the industry moving towards smaller satellite technology, it’s an exciting time to be a design engineer finding creative new ways to make these systems possible and successful.

Would you be willing to colonize Mars if it meant never returning to Earth?
Nope. Maybe Europa.
