How important is space to your life on a daily basis? Probably much more than you realize. While we can’t see them, thousands of satellites and other technologies floating around in space actually help us accomplish many big and small tasks each day. From checking the weather forecast to paying bills, watching television or enjoying farm-fresh vegetables, our daily lives depend on space-based services.
The reason we hardly notice the large role that space plays in our lives is that like the electricity that flows into our homes and the radio signals transmitted in the air around us, these space-based services remain largely invisible — even as space provides immeasurable value in our lives and economy.
