George E. Tromba

Principal Director Commercial Space Futures

 

George E. Tromba is the principal director of Commercial Space Futures (CSF) in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer at The Aerospace Corporation. In this role, he leads Aerospace’s operational and technical efforts in the organizational stand-up and execution of the CSF’s charter supporting the Department of Defense and civil and intelligence community customers.

Previously, Tromba was a systems director supporting Headquarters, United States Space Force in the Pentagon. Prior to Aerospace, he served for more than 30 years combined in the United States Army and Air Force with a career spanning the 82nd Airborne Division, the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Air Force Space Command, Pacific Air Forces, Joint and Air Staffs, the Pentagon, and the Air Force Test Center. He has commanded and led at the squadron, center, and group levels. Additionally, Tromba has served in capacities where his responsibilities have included satellite operations, developmental and operational testing, space control operations, intelligence operations, tactics development, cyberspace strategy and planning, program management, systems engineering, battle management command and control, and operations in the United States and, while deployed, in support of Operation Allied Force, Northern Watch, and Enduring Freedom.

Education

Tromba is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas State University. He also holds master’s degrees in strategy from the Air War College, where he was an honors graduate; in international relations from the College of Naval Command and Staff; and in telecommunication systems management and program management from Golden Gate University.
