Aerospace is firmly engaged in efforts to ensure a sustainable future, and is actively leveraging its expertise and resources to develop innovative new tools and methodologies for detecting and measuring the impacts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases upon our environment.

This year, Aerospace provided direct support to NASA’s Orbiting Carbon Observatory Project (OCO-3), a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory instrument designed to measure carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere, and significantly improve our understanding of the sources and impacts of carbon dioxide emissions from human activities.

Climate-driven natural disaster events in the United States and the world at large have underscored the importance of Earth system science to environmental protection and public health. Aerospace has recently lent its advanced infrared hyperspectral imaging technology to detect and identify gases emanating from wildfires, and to analyze the movement and effects of these gases on the environment and local population centers.

As always, Aerospace is committed to applying its existing and nascent resources and technologies to initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and sustainability, ensuring a brighter future for our natural resources, communities and the environments they inhabit.
