The Aerospace Committee for Equality (ACE) is partnered with Aerospace Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to foster cultural awareness and understanding, enhance career development opportunities and promote a diverse, inclusive workplace. Aerospace is leveraging employee engagement to promote giving and volunteering campaigns in pursuit of these goals.

This year, ACE partnered with the Aerospace Black Caucus (ABC) to launch a giving campaign commemorating Martin Luther King (MLK) Day and African American History Month (AAHM), collecting funds for a variety of Black-founded nonprofit organizations.

ACE also partnered with the Aerospace Asian Pacific American Association (AAPAA) to host a giving campaign in support of nonprofit organizations dedicated to combating racism and prejudice.

In addition, ACE has collaborated with ERGs to raise funds for Pride Month, Juneteenth, Women’s Week, Veteran’s Day, National Hispanic Heritage Month and Earth Day.

Aerospace employees expressed gratitude for the members of the U.S. military who defend the interests and security of the nation by donating to the Military Appreciation Month giving opportunity, providing much-needed support to military personnel and their families in recognition of all that they do every day.

To facilitate giving, the AeroCares platform provides a convenient way for Aerospace employees to volunteer and donate to great organizations, while making every effort to keep our people engaged. To further encourage volunteering, AeroCares has established a monthly Volunteer Recognition Award to recognize outstanding Aerospace volunteers.

ACE’s collaboration with ERGs is not limited solely to giving campaigns, however. This year, a coalition of ERGs hosted two virtual events designed to help create a culture of trust, inclusion and belonging, and to provide employees with strategies for bystander intervention in the workplace and elsewhere. The virtual events outlined the very real steps employees can take to understand the relationship between bias interrupters and diversity and inclusion to help prevent discrimination, as a means of creating a better environment for their colleagues and communities.

Aerospace’s culture of giving and volunteering is well-established and dynamic, and we will continue to explore all opportunities to give back to our communities to ensure a just, equitable and sustainable future for everyone.
