Logan T

Name: Logan

Alma Mater: California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

Department: Reliability and Statistics Department

Can you tell us about the work you do here at The Aerospace Corporation?

I am a statistician in the reliability and statistics department at The Aerospace Corporation and work on a diverse assortment of tasks. From providing recommendations on certain design requirements and reliability models, to analyzing a variety of different types of data in support of mission success, there is never a dull day.

Who or what inspires you? Why?

One of the biggest inspirations in my life has always been my mom. She was also an engineer in the aerospace industry and always provided a lot of encouragement and support for my dreams and goals in life.

When was the moment you realized that you wanted to make this your career?

I realized I wanted to make statistics my career in high school. I had always loved math, but the real life application and impact of statistics on the world and the people in it made it the perfect match for my interests. Particularly in the space industry, the work and problems I get to help solve have a large, positive influence on the entire world.

What work is Aerospace doing that excites you the most outside of your own department?

Outside of my own department, I am most excited about the support different groups at Aerospace are providing for the effort of getting man back to the moon, such as new technologies and analyses to ensure a safe and high fidelity mission.

Why did you choose to work at Aerospace?

I chose to work at Aerospace because of the variety of work I would get to be a part of as a member of the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG), as well as the people I get to collaborate with.

What advice would give to an engineer joining The Aerospace Corporation?

Some advice I would provide is to explore – not only in the work and tasks in whatever department they are joining but also in exploring the different resource groups and programs Aerospace has to offer.
