Jon N. Cowart joined The Aerospace Corporation in 2019 as systems director for Marshall Space Flight Center/Kennedy Space Center Programs.
Prior to joining Aerospace, Cowart was with NASA for 36 years, where he held positions as space shuttle Atlantis project engineer; ISS mission manager; deputy mission manager, Ares I-X; and mission manager in the Commercial Crew Program.
Cowart was a captain in the United States Air Force before resigning his commission to join NASA.
Education
Cowart earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech.
Awards and Honors
Cowart received the NASA Leadership Medal and the NASA Silver Snoopy Award.
