Catherine C. Venturini

Principal Engineer Enterprise Lab

 

Catherine Venturini is a principal engineer in the Enterprise Lab (elab) under the Office of the Chief Technology Officer at The Aerospace Corporation. In this position, Venturini’s primary focus is on space mission architectures, strategic planning, and small satellite mission capabilities to support the interest of the corporation's major government customers in developing and prototyping future space systems.

Prior to her current role, she worked to support concept development and developmental planning activities under the Advanced Development and Planning Division for 10 years. Before that, Venturini worked in the Remote Sensing Department, Space Sciences Applications Laboratory in the Physical Sciences Laboratory for approximately seven years. There, she worked on infrared sensor hardware and software development and data analysis.

Education

Venturini received her bachelor’s degree in physics from Loyola Marymount University, and her master’s degree in physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Awards and Honors

Venturini received the 2013 Aerospace Team of the Year Award, a Shaping the Future Pin Award in 2019, the 2020 Aerospace Corporate Innovation Team Award, and was named one of Aerospace's Women of the Year in 2021.

Affiliations

Venturini is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of the American Astronomical Society (AAS), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the Astronomy Society of the Pacific (ASP), and Sigma Xi.
